Knowsley and Sefton Green Belt Study - Knowsley Report

Knowsley and Sefton Councils have carried out a green belt study using a common methodology. The study identifies land in the green belt that has the potential to be developmed in order to meet future housing and employment needs whilst minimising the impact on the green belt. It has been used to inform the preparation of the Knowsley Core Strategy Preferred Options Report.

It is not the role of the green belt study to determine which, if any, of the areas identified in the study will be required to meet Knowsley’s future development needs. If land in the green belt is required, this will be identified in the Core Strategy or other LDF documents.

In order to explain this process in more detail, a short note has been produced to accompany the Core Strategy Preferred Options consultation materials. This is available to download below:

The council is now asking for your comments on the Knowsley report of the joint green belt study and Knowsley draft detailed green belt boundary review (appendix 15).
