The building control system exists to make sure that buildings are properly designed and constructed so as to ensure the health, safety, welfare and convenience of people using them.

If you are thinking about making alterations to a building or property you may need to obtain building regulations approval.

Construction (Design and Mangement) Regulations 2007

Online applications

You can submit your building control applications online via the Submit a Plan Portal. Just register your details, logon and choose 'Knowsley' as the local authority before making your application.
