Copy certificates

If a birth, death, marriage or civil partnership took
place in Knowsley, you can contact Knowsley Register Office on 0151
443 2900 and apply for a copy certificate.
The office is open Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm.
How to apply
You can make an application in person by
visiting us at the address on the right. If you
prefer, you can write to us. You will need to provide the
following information and enclose a cheque or postal order made
payable to Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council and include a
stamped addressed envelope.
- Birth - Full name at birth, date and place of birth, parents'
full names including mother's maiden name.
- Death - Full name of deceased, place and date of death.
- Marriage or civil partnership - Full name of both parties
before marriage or partnership and the date and place of the
marriage or partnership.
Fees
- Full birth certificate (includes parents' names) £7.
- Short birth certificate £5.50 (this does not include details of
the parents and may not always be accepted by passport offices or
other organisations).
- Marriage or civil partnership certificate £7.
- Death certificate £7.
- Certificates issued for recent events that are held in current
registers cost £3.50 each.
Copy Certificates will be available the next working day
following receipt of complete application and fee. You can collect
the certificate from the office or it can be posted out to you for
a fee of £1.
