Air Quality

Knowsley MBC operates two air quality monitoring stations within the borough.

All stations monitor  the following pollutants

  • Nitrogen Oxides (NOX),
  • Particulate Matter less than 10 µm (PM10)
  • Particulate matter less than 2.5 µm (PM2.5).

Live air quality information from the stations is provided on the We Care 4 Air website and can be viewed using the links below.

The air quality monitoring station located at Briery Hey Avenue in Kirkby  was decommissioned on 3 November 2017 due the proposed redevelopment of the neighbouring site.
