The Safer Knowsley Partnership is committed to tackling crime,
disorder and anti-social behaviour in our parks and open spaces and
is supporting the SafeSpace initiative over the summer
months.
In Prescot and Whiston, SafeSpace aims to:
• Reduce crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour.
• Create attractive, safe and welcoming parks, play areas and
public spaces.
• Improve the environmental condition of open spaces.
• Make open spaces cleaner and ensure they are properly
maintained.
• Engage with local people and communities through involvement
and activities.
• Cater for children and young people through fun and
educational activities.
The Prescot and Whiston Pride Team. made up of Merseyside Police,
Knowsley Housing Trust, Knowsley Council and other partners, are
working with the Friends of Stadt Moers Group and the local
community to ensure our parks and open spaces feel safe, welcoming
and vibrant.
Dedicated officers supported by Police Community Support Officers
(PCSTOs) and Neighbourhood Wardens will be providing a high
visibility presence in our parks, acting as a visible deterrent to
offenders and providing reassurance to the community.
