Things to do, places to go in Knowsley

Cage soccer

There’s plenty to do for young people in Knowsley.

Street cage football, soccer coaching, dance classes and hair and beauty sessions are just some of the activities on offer across the borough.

The programme is organised by The Safer Knowsley Partnership, which includes Merseyside Police, Knowsley Council and Knowsley Housing Trust, and delivered by M&H Academy Ltd. It aims to make sure every over the coming year.

As well as giving young people fun and stimulating ways to pass their days it is hoped the scheme will help reduce youth anti social behaviour in the borough. And thanks to Knowsley Housing Trust, all sessions are completely free of charge.

The sessions will be delivered in a portable soccer arena court  and will take place between 6.00pm – 9.00pm as follows:-

Monday

Tuesday

Cllr Jackie Harris, Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Social Inclusion, said: “These activities have been introduced in response to feedback received from young people and their parents and aims to improve the opportunities and lifestyles for young people.

“Engaging in such positive activities will hopefully lead to less anti-social behaviour across the borough and promote a sense of responsibility and citizenship within our communities.

“I would encourage as many young people as possible to take advantage of this exciting opportunity.”

Joe Morgan and Eddie Hussin from M & H Academy added: “As well as promoting health and wellbeing, our activities offer young people an opportunity to network with one another, improving self esteem, discipline and respect.

“Previous projects have resulted in uncovering unhidden talent and promoting community cohesion. Participation in our activities could lead to Sports Leader Awards, Youth Achievement Awards and Duke of Edinburgh. This is a fantastic offer and one not to be missed.”
