New learning centres - have your say
Knowsley Council wants to hear your views about how its new
learning centres should be governed.
The new learning centres will be very different from the existing
secondary schools – in addition to providing education for
children, they will offer a range of services including healthcare,
childcare and adult education as well as providing a base for
community activities. They will be a major focus for the
regeneration of local communities.
To achieve all of this, we need move away from the existing
arrangement of school governing bodies to a system which is more
representative of the views of pupils, parents and the
community.
Over the next few weeks we are holding a series of focus group
meetings to find out from you how you think the new system could
work. We will also be providing an online consultation tool for
several weeks after this, which will be available on http://knowsley.dialoguebydesign.net/. Please use this
link to register, after which you will be notified when the online
consultation has begun.
If you are interested in education and community matters, or simply
want to find out more about the learning centres, please log on or
come along to a focus group session. Places are limited so please
RSVP to David Walter on 0151 443 3271 or email: david.walter@knowsley.gov.uk.
