Let your dog have its day

A four legged fun day takes place in Kirkby on Saturday, September 1 and man’s best friend is the guest of honour!

The Knowsley WAGS event, organised by Knowsley Council, takes place between 12-4pm at the Millennium Green, Kirkby, with a variety of activities taking place for both dogs and their human pals.

Highlights include a dog show – opened by former Mr Universe and Siberian Huskie owner Terry Phillips; a visit from the Scottish sled dog team, complete with sleds and rigs and the H&M Dog Display team.

There will also be the chance for dog owners to get their pooch microchipped (for free if the owner is in receipt of benefits), and a chance to chat to Knowsley Council’s Dog Wardens, RSPCA and Dog’s Trust representatives.

Knowsley Council officers will also be consulting visitors on potential sites for dog waste bins in the area.

For more information about the event, contact Vinny Nash, Knowsley Council’s Area Development Officer for North Kirkby on 443 5910.
