Health and Wellbeing Partnership annual meeting

The annual meeting of the Knowsley Health and Wellbeing Partnership will take place at 10am on Thursday 30 August at the Suites Hotel, Kirkby.

The Partnership is celebrating another successful year of jointly tackling the major health and social care issues facing the Borough.

A particular feature of this year’s event will be the involvement of Knowsley’s voluntary and community sector partners, who have recently been working with the partnership on a range of innovative projects aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of Knowsley’s residents.

A key element of the work of the partnership over the last 12 months has been the focus upon ‘Stop Smoking and Smoke Free’, with a range of initiatives designed to deliver this approach in terms of improvements to health, implementing new legislation, raising awareness and supporting the smoking ‘quitters’. As a demonstration of this commitment, the partnership will be launching the Knowsley Tobacco Control Strategy at the annual meeting.

This combined partnership event is open to the public. Everyone is welcome to attend to find out more about the partnership’s work and in particular, the impact that stop smoking measures are having in Knowsley. Please feel free to bring along friends or colleagues who may be interested in attending.

If you would like to find out more about this event, please contact Shirley King on 443 2357 or Clair Harris on 443 5543. In order to assist with the planning for seating requirements and refreshments, please contact Ann Pemberton on 443 3022 if you intend to be there.
