Car parks pass with top marks
It’s good news for drivers in Knowsley as all the
borough’s car parks have once again been named among the
safest and most secure on Merseyside.
Knowsley is the only council on Merseyside to achieve the Park Mark
Safer Parking award - presented to car parks which deter criminal
activity and create a safer environment for customers and their
cars – to all its car parks.
This is the second year in a row that all the car parks have met
the strict standards necessary for this award – which is
granted to parking areas that have achieved the requirements of an
assessment conducted by the police.
Cllr Jackie Harris, Cabinet Member for Community Safety and Social
Inclusion for Knowsley Council, said: “Once again, we have
achieved the Park Mark Safer Parking Award in all our
borough’s car parks. This is a fantastic achievement and
testament to the commitment of our staff who work hard to keep
people and their vehicles safe all year round.
“The council is committed to providing high quality parking
facilities, reducing levels of crime and improving public services
for everyone who lives, works and visits Knowsley.”
The scheme is managed by the British Parking Association on behalf
of the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPOs), to reduce
crime and the fear of crime in parking areas.
