New look for school meals website

It’s out with the old and in with the new for Knowsley Council’s school meals website.

www.myschoollunch.co.uk/knowsley has been re-designed and has an exciting and fresh new look.

www.myschoollunch.co.uk is a website aimed at children, parents and teachers. It includes a funfair of educational games, interactive kid’s clubs to encourage healthy eating and information about the school meals service for parents.

The new site has been designed to improve accessibility for everyone whether someone has a disability or is accessing it from an alternative platform. It has been created using guidelines from the RNIB and W3C.

On the site is a new online club called The High Fivers. Children can join the club and enter competitions, read stories, answer questions and catch up with what the club has been doing over the last month.

Sheelagh Rutherford, Facilities Manager, Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council said: “My School Lunch is very popular and is well used by parents and children in Knowsley. School meals have changed a lot over the last few years and so it is a good time for the website to be brought up to date.

“All the popular information is still on the site including current menus, promotions, fun fair games and latest news. And we have our new High Fivers Club, which promotes healthy eating and is full of fun activities for children.

“We are really excited about re-launching My School Lunch and I am sure the new site will be very popular with everyone.”
