Building schools for future planning consultation
The Council's Building Schools for the Future programme is a
comprehensive overhaul of the education provision, targeted at
improving educational standards within the Borough.
It is proposed to replace existing secondary schools with brand new
Learning Centres on sites at:
- Ruffwood Comprehensive School, Roughwood Drive, Kirkby.
- Brookfield High School, Bracknell Avenue, Kirkby.
- St Edmund of Canterbury Comprehensive School, Lordens Road Huyton.
- Knowsley Hey Comprehensive School, Seel Road, Huyton.
- Prescot Comprehensive School, Knowsley Park Lane, Prescot
- Higherside Comprehensive School, Cumber Lane Whiston.
- Halewood Community Comprehensive School, The Avenue, Halewood.
The primary use of the Centres will be to continue to provide
access to education facilities for the local community. The new
development will provide an appropriate, viable, stable and
sustainable learning environment.
A series of open days are planned at each of the school sites
giving the local community the opportunity to view the
planning proposals.
- Ruffwood 20th Feb 10.00am – 6.30pm
- Halewood 21st Feb 10.00am – 6.30pm
- Brookfield CLC 22nd Feb 10.00am – 6.30pm
