The report said: “The school values each pupil and gives them excellent quality of support, care and guidance. Pupils’ personal development is outstanding and they say lessons are fun and exciting.
“Pupils’ behaviour and courtesy are exemplary. The school provides an enriched curriculum and a vast amount of extra-curricular activities.”
Leadership, management and governance of the school were also described as outstanding
The report added: “Through his example of dedication and hard work, the headteacher inspires staff to give total commitment to the pupils.”
Inspectors said lessons are delivered by highly-skilled teachers, whose positive and often good-humoured approach captures pupils’ interest enabling excellent learning to take place.
St Laurence’s head Paul Cronin said: “The report is testament to the hard work of everybody at the school from pupils and parents to staff and governors. We are pleased our ambitions and aspirations for the school and the children have been formally recognised and we are determined to improve further.”
Knowsley Council’s Executive Director of Children’s Services Damian Allen said: “The report praises many aspects of the school’s provision and says the children are extremely proud of their school. They have every right to be - this is an excellent report and is well deserved.”
