Good Advice From The Libraries

Knowsley Benefits Take-up and Consumer Advice teams were on hand, alongside Merseyside Fire Brigade at Stockbridge Village Library to chat to residents about keeping their homes warm, fire safety, retail rights and their benefits entitlement, including information about Cold Weather Payments.
The advice sessions were organised by Knowsley’s Leisure and Community Services department and offered informal advice and information to visitors.
Further sessions at Stockbridge Village Library, The Withens, are now planned for the remainder of the month. On Wednesday, January 18th, The Alzheimers Society will be talking to residents between 9.30am and 2.30pm, and on Monday, January 23, Knowsley’s Energy Efficiency Team will be offering advice on how you can save money and help the environment at the same time, between 10am and 1pm. Then, on Friday, January 27, Knowsley Older Persons Team will be offering advice from 10am-1pm.
Knowsley’s libraries are also marking the New Year by the introduction of more than 1,000 new paperbacks on their shelves. You can now choose from an even wider selection of books, giving you the perfect excuse to curl up with a good read this winter.
As well as books, all Knowsley’s libraries offer DVD and video rental as well as free internet access. All you need to join is proof of address.
