Have A Splashing Time With Art

Let your creative juices flow and express yourself through art this month as part of Knowsley’s Big Draw events.

Marking the national campaign, which aims to encourage as many people as possible to enjoy drawing and painting, Knowsley will be holding two special days to allow people to do just that!

The first event is on Saturday (October 8) at the Huyton Gallery, Civic Way, Huyton, when Knowsley Council’s Arts Service will be inviting members of the public to come along and make their mark by painting, blobbing, smearing and dripping!

Under the guidance of Artist Paul Luckcraft, whose exhibition of works, titled Everything Beautiful is Far Away, is currently on display in the gallery, visitors young and old will be provided with a sheet of acetate and allowed to create whatever they like with a selection of paints. It doesn’t have to be perfect – the idea is simply to come along and have fun.

The fun starts at 11am and goes on until 4pm, and all materials are provided. Entrance is completely free.

The following weekend, more creative capers will take place at Prescot Museum on Saturday October 15, between 10am -1pm and 2-4pm. This time it’ll be art with a difference as painting gets personal with some face painting and body art. For more information, contact the museum on 0151 430 7787.
