Published on: Wednesday, 06-January-2016

Work at the junction of Moss End Way/North Perimeter Road/Perimeter Road, as part of the Knowsley Business Park Access and Connectivity Improvements, is entering its final phase.

The work involves the construction of a new roundabout. This alteration will make it easier for businesses, visitors and other drivers to access the Business Park.

In order to allow for the final resurfacing of the carriageway to be carried out safely, the following road closures will take place:

From Wednesday 6 January 2016 until Thursday 7 January 2016 Perimeter Road will be closed at its junction with Moss End Way.  The southbound diversion route will be via Moss End Way, Acornfield Road, Gores Road, Lees Road and South Boundary Road.  The northbound diversion will be via South Boundary Road, Lees Road, Ashcroft Road, Acornfield Road and Moss End Way. View plan.

From Friday 8 January 2016 until Saturday 9 January 2016 Moss End Way will be closed from its junction with Depot Road to Perimeter Road/North Perimeter Road.  The southbound diversion route will be via Perimeter Road, South Boundary Road, Lees Road, Ashcroft Road, Acornfield Road.  The Northbound diversion will be via Acornfield Road, Gores Road, Lees Road, South Boundary Road and Perimeter Road. View plan.

On Sunday 10 January 2016 the whole junction of Moss End Way/Perimeter Road/North Perimeter Road will be closed.  The southbound diversion route will be via Headbolt Lane, County Road and South Boundary Road.  The northbound diversion route will be via South Boundary Road, County Road and Headbolt Lane.  The diversion route to access Moss End Way will be via the northbound/southbound diversion route then via Lees Road, Ashcroft Road and Acornfield Road. View plan.

As with all major road works of this nature, it is inevitable that some disruption will be caused, however, the scheme is nearing completion and the disruption will be soon be alleviated.  In the meantime, it is of paramount importance that drivers adhere to any temporary traffic management and road closures in place, as this is for the safety of both the site operatives and the general public.
