Published on: Thursday, 26-March-2015

If you are registered to vote, you will receive your poll card for the Local and Parliamentary Election from this week.

You will receive a white card telling you where your polling station will be for the elections on Thursday 7 May.

If you have registered for a postal vote, you will receive a pink card telling you when you should expect to receive your postal vote pack (if you are already registered, this is anticipated to be the week of Monday 20 April).

If nobody at your address is registered to vote, you will receive a lilac card telling you how to register in time to vote in May’s elections.

It is really simple to register to vote. Just visit www.gov.uk/register-to-vote to register online (you will need to provide your National Insurance number and your date of birth).

The closing date for you to register to vote is Monday 20 April 2015 and the closing date to apply to vote by post is 5pm on Tuesday 21 April 2015.

If you apply for a postal vote between now and the deadline on 21 April, you should expect to receive your postal vote pack by Tuesday 28 April 2015.

For further information on voting or applying for a postal vote, visit our elections page or the Electoral Commission website.
