Reduce Anti-Social Behaviour and Arson Fires this Halloween and Bonfire Season!

Stay safe and have fun during the Halloween and Bonfire season by following some simple tips.

  • Go to organised displays and events this Bonfire season
  • Remember, you must be 18 to buy fireworks and always buy fireworks that meet the BS7114 standard from a recommended retailer
  • Light fireworks at arm’s length using the supplied stick, never use a naked flame
  • Don’t give sparklers to children under 5-years-old
  • Keep pets indoors so they won’t get hurt or frightened
  • Store wheelie bins and rubbish in a secure place and only put them out on the day of collection
  • If you are having building work done, lock all materials away
  • Mention this advice to neighbours, especially elderly or vulnerable people
  • If you witness any suspicious or anti-social behaviour in your neighbourhood, please contact the Police or Fire Service
