Prescot Heritage Hub open day – 28 June 2014

Published on: Wednesday, 25-June-2014

The newly re-vamped community group, Prescot Heritage Hub, which works closely with the Prescot Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI) is now in new premises at 53 Eccleston Street.

To celebrate the Hub’s ongoing research, which includes archives, Elizabethan Prescot and Lost Buildings of Prescot, they are hosting an open day on Saturday, 28 June between 10am and 4pm.

Visitors of all ages are invited to come along to experience and celebrate Elizabethan Society in Prescot and talk to members about the Hub. The Heritage Hub is also in collaboration with Prescot Historic Society, so there will be a chance to ask our members about the archives, discuss interests and future events.

Prescot Heritage Hub is a local community group which helps preserve Prescot’s heritage through interpretation and archive management.

There will be a range of activities taking place throughout the day, including demonstrations of Elizabethan crafts, Elizabethan dyeing techniques for clothes, spinning and plying yarns (a popular trade in Elizabethan culture). In addition, Prescot’s Townscape Heritage Officer will be on-hand to provide updates on the THI project, including 3D visuals of completed grant-aided buildings within Prescot.
