Knowsley Writing Competition 2013

Enter the Knowsley Writing Competition, formerly the Creative Writing Competition, for the chance to win Waterstones gift vouchers.

There are three categories for entries:

  • Children (0-12): an illustrated story or poem on any topic. A template is available in all libraries.
  • Teenagers (13-17): a cartoon strip on any topic. Again, a template is available for entries.
  • Adults (18+): the theme is ‘The letter I wish I’d written’. Prose or a poem, which can be illustrated.  Entries should be no more than two sides of A4 paper.

Prizes

We're giving Waterstones gift vouchers to the authors of the top three entries in each category:

  • 1st prize: £30
  • 2nd prize: £20
  • 3rd prize: £15

The winner of each category will also get a shield trophy to keep.

An overall winner will be announced at a celebration event in March. The winner will receive an extra £50 gift voucher and have their name engraved on the annual competiton winners' shield.
