Kirkby Market gets ready to open

The brand new Kirkby Market is set to open on Saturday 26 April.

To mark the occasion, there will be a celebration event on the day from 9am with music, games, a big voucher giveaway and fun activities for the kids including Punch and Judy shows and free ice cream all day.

The new, fully covered market has an even wider range of top quality goods and boasts a brand new on-site cafe.  The market will be open every day except Sunday, giving shoppers even more opportunity to bag a bargain.

Knowsley Council’s Deputy Chief Executive, Mike Harden, said: “This is a great new facility for Kirkby and we hope that the more extensive offer, combined with the quality of facilities in the new market, will attract even more people to the area.

“Following the recent opening of the Kirkby Centre, residents are now starting to see the regeneration of their town centre and there is much more to come.

“It gives me great pleasure to hand the keys over to the traders and I know that they are really keen to get on site and prepare their businesses for the opening on 26 April”.

Kirkby Market will be open from 9am - 4.30pm Monday to Saturday, with 130 stalls.
