Have you signed up for skills training in Knowsley?

Published on: Monday, 08-December-2014

Residents in Knowsley have the opportunity to ‘get ahead’ thanks to an initiative launched by Knowsley Council.

The ‘Get Ahead’ campaign aims to help people in their daily lives by giving them the skills they need ranging from helping the kids with the homework, managing the household budget, accessing discounts online or landing their next job.

The campaign is raising awareness of the free, local courses that are open to residents to help them improve their skills, confidence and even achieve qualifications.

Whatever your skills and your needs, there is a course to suit you!  Courses range from English skills, maths skills, courses that help unemployed people back into work, reading support, computers for beginners and digital skills workshops.

In addition, residents will continue to be able to access Knowsley Works for wider support to help them get into work.

Cllr Dave Lonergan, Knowsley Council’s Cabinet member for Regeneration, Economy & Skills, said “We’re helping people to help themselves. ‘Get Ahead’ is about providing residents with information on the range of support, training and courses available to help them gain the skills or qualifications they need to improve day-to-day life.  Don’t delay – book your place today!”
