Fostering info session Sep 8

Published on: Monday, 01-September-2014

If you are interested in finding out more about fostering, come along to an Information Session on Monday (September 8).

Our Fostering Service will be on hand with information and to answer questions at the River Alt Resource Centre, Woolfall Heath Avenue, Huyton, from 6-7pm.

There will also be the opportunity for you to meet foster carers who are already fostering for Knowsley, to find out first hand what the role involves.

Anyone can be considered as a foster carer, regardless of age, sexuality, income, employment status, experience or marital status.

Foster carers give children a safe, supportive and loving home when his or her own family are unable to. They receive full training, ongoing support, and are paid for the care they provide.

In fact, for many people, fostering is a rewarding and viable career option – especially ideal for those who love spending time with children and young people.

We are particularly keen to hear from you if you would be interested in fostering teenage children and / or sibling groups, to help keep brothers and sisters together.

You don’ t have to live in Knowsley to foster for Knowsley, so if you live in surrounding boroughs we would still like you to get in touch.

If you are unable to make Monday's session, you can still call us on 0151 443 3958 for an informal chat.

You can also fill in a contact form on the council's website, or 'like' the Foster for Knowsley Facebook page for more information.
