Find out about fostering

Published on: Thursday, 06-March-2014

If you’ve ever considered fostering, an Information Session on Monday (March 10) will help answer any questions you might have.

Knowsley Council’s Fostering Service will be on hand with information about fostering at the River Alt Resource Centre, Woolfall Heath Avenue, Huyton, from 12-1.30pm.

You’ll be able to meet foster carers who are already fostering for Knowsley, and find out first hand what the role involves.

Anyone can be considered as a foster carer, regardless of age, sexuality, income, employment status, experience or marital status.

Foster carers give children a safe, supportive and loving home when his or her own family are unable to. They receive full training, ongoing support, and are paid for the care they provide.

In fact, for many people, fostering is a rewarding and viable career option – especially ideal for those who love spending time with children and young people.

Knowsley are particularly keen to hear from you if you who would be interested in fostering teenage children and if you have room to look after sibling groups, to help keep brothers and sisters together.

You don’ t have to live in Knowsley to foster for Knowsley, so if you live outside the borough but are still interested in fostering, you will be more than welcome to apply.

If you would like to find out more about fostering for Knowsley, come along to the information session on Monday, or call the Fostering Service on 0151 443 3958.
