Find out about fostering

Published on: Thursday, 05-June-2014

If you've ever considered fostering, why not come along to an Information Session on Monday (June 9) and find out more?

Knowsley Council’s Fostering Service will be on hand to answer all your questions at the River Alt Resource Centre, Woolfall Heath Avenue, Huyton, from 12-1.30pm.

You'll also be able to meet foster carers who are already fostering for Knowsley, to find out first hand what the role involves.

Anyone can be considered as a foster carer, regardless of age, sexuality, income, employment status, experience or marital status.

Foster carers give children a safe, supportive and loving home when his or her own family are unable to. They receive full training, ongoing support, and are paid for the care they provide.

In fact, for many people, fostering is a rewarding and viable career option – especially ideal for those who love spending time with children and young people.

We would especially like to hear from you if you might be interested in fostering teenage children or could take more than one child at a time - you might be able to look after siblings and prevent them from being separated from one another while in care.

You don’ t have to live in Knowsley to foster for Knowsley, so even if you live slightly outside the borough we'd still love to hear from you.

So please either come along to the information session on Monday, or call the Fostering Service on 0151 443 3958. Alternatively you can fill in an online form and somebody will contact you.

Foster for Knowsley also has a Facebook page, which you can 'like' for regular information.
