Changes to library opening hours

Published on: Monday, 03-August-2015

In order to meet the council’s budget deficit of £31 million, all services have undertaken a review to identify where savings can be made.  As part of this review, the Library Service has reviewed its opening hours and - with effect from Monday 24 August 2015 - the opening hours will change.

All five libraries will open five days per week as follows:

  • Mondays: 10am – 5pm
  • Tuesdays: 10am – 5pm
  • Wednesdays: Closed
  • Thursdays: 10am – 1pm
  • Fridays: 10am – 5pm
  • Saturdays: 10am – 1pm (12.30pm Halewood)

These times will be reviewed over the next six months to see if they continue to meet the needs of customers.

Residents are being advised that the mobile Library Service, as well as the home delivery service, will still be operating around the borough.

Internet access is also available in the council’s one stop shops. In addition, a new library e-books system will be available in the autumn.
