Book Start Week in Knowsley - Calling all Heroes!

Families with under fives will be able to enjoy a week of ‘hero’ themed activities in Knowsley’s libraries during Book Start Week, from 9 to 15 June.

National Book Start weeks celebrates reading together and encourages families to read with their child every day.

There will be story, rhyme and play events in all the borough’s libraries for families with pre-school children.

Cllr Eddie Connor, Knowsley’s Cabinet Member for Leisure, Community and Culture, said:
“Reading with your little one is a great way to spend some special time together and get involved in their early learning journey.

“This year’s Book Start theme ‘my hero’, provides the perfect opportunity to enter a world of adventure and imagination while enjoying all your little one’s favourite hero stories, books and rhymes together.

He added:

“There’s always lots on offer in our libraries for the under 5s, just contact your local library for more information.”

The following hero themed Book Start activities are taking place in Knowsley’s Libraries:

Halewood Library, Wednesday 11 June, 10.30am to 11.30am
Stockbridge Village Library, Wednesday 11 June, 2pm to 3pm
Huyton Library, Thursday 12 June, 9.30am to 10.30am
Prescot Library, Friday 13 June, 10am to 11am
Kirkby Library, Friday 13 June , 2pm to 3pm
