Adult Disability Service accreditation

Knowsley Council’s Adult Disability Service has been awarded Autism Accreditation, which provides an autism-specific quality assurance programme for over 300 organisations.  It aims to continuously improve the quality of service provision for people with autism and Asperger syndrome.

The Autism Accreditation award provides a seal of quality and can give people peace of mind when choosing a service for a relative or friend.

The service was assessed by The National Autistic Society prior to Christmas and the national panel not only accredited the service, but they have also awarded it ‘approved with commendation’ status. This recognises the innovation displayed by the service, particularly for its integration of Adult Day Services with Leisure and Culture Services and the service’s co-location within leisure centres.
