Youth work and detached youth work

Youth workers across Knowsley provide opportunities for young people to participate in projects that can be either based in youth clubs or through detached youth work.

Young people can also gain valuable experience by becoming a volunteer with the Youth and Play Service. Opportunities exist throughout Knowsley and all volunteers are supported by staff and are given access to training.

Detached youth workers operate throughout the borough. The teams of youth workers make contact with young people on the streets and involve them in a range of activities. They also provide information for young people about other services and activities in their local area.

Always ask to see worker’s identity badges if you meet them on the street.
