St. John's Millennium Green comprises a circular footpath route suitable for wheelchairs, formal tree and bulb planting, a 'hill fort' mound reflecting the once moated site of Huyton Hey Manor nearby, a public event area, an outdoor 'amphitheatre' and Millennium Feature. A 'millennium date line' feature, comprising four brass plaques set into the paths, illustrates local history over the past 1,000 years. This feature was designed by local school children working with local artists. The plaques depict the early Huyton Hey Manor and marshes; the past farming landscape with horses and dovecots; the electric light factory that was situated nearby; and the potteries and collieries of industrial Huyton Quarry.

How to get there

St John's Millennium Green is situated on Manor Farm Road (behind shops), Huyton, Knowsley, Merseyside.

By Rail: The nearest station is Huyton, approximately 15 minute walk.

By Road: From the M62 junction 6 take the A5080 towards Huyton. At the second set of traffic lights turn right up St John's Road. Take the second right into Manor Farm Road, the shops are situated on the left hand side and the Green is behind these.

By Foot: The Green has pedestrian access from Manor Farm Road and Wilson Road.
