Changing exhibitions

January 2008 –  Halewood's heritage
This small temporary display will use material discovered during our Unlocking Knowsley’s Hidden Gems project. As well as artefacts and information relating to the history of Halewood, the exhibition will include material produced by the local community in Halewood.

1 February to April 16 2008 – Lost time
In conjunction with the Antiquarian Horological Society we will host an exhibition showcasing some of the finest examples of chronometers from around the world. Highlights of the exhibition include items loaned from the National Maritime Museum and the British Museum.

25 April to 11 July 2008 – Off the rack
Come and see the finest examples of clothing and costume all from the museums own collection. This exhibition gives visitors a chance to see items rarely on view to the public. Items on show date from the 18th century right up to the 1960’s.

19 July to 18 October 2008 –  The way we watched
Do you remember the Woodentops? Did you used to Watch with Mother? Who was you favourite flump? If these are questions you often ask yourself, come along to this latest exhibition to find out some more. Exploring childrens television from the 1950’s, to the 1990’s, this exhibition has something for everyone.

1 November 2008 to 3 January 2009 –  Wacky widgets, weird and ingenious inventions
This is an exhibition of weird and wonderful models of ideas submitted to the Patent Office over the last 150 years. Ever wondered what a machine for smoking 2 cigarettes at once would look like? Are you looking for a device to stop soup getting in your moustache? This is the exhibition for you!
