Bringing about the borough - A thesis by Councillor Larry Nolan
The history of how Knowsley came into
being is a story of a race against time
and against the odds. Knowsley would
never have been created if it hadn’t
been for the actions of just a few
people at just the right time.
The late Councillor Nolan who was had a passion for the history of Knowsley wrote a thesis on the subject. The thesis captured the enthusiasm of the people involved and explains how they were responsible for the creation of the Knowsley that we know today.
The thesis has been abridged in a booklet called ‘Bringing about the borough’ so that everyone can have the opportunity to learn about the history of Knowsley. ‘Bringing about the borough’ is available from Knowsley libraries or you can download it from the attachments box below.
