Searches and availability

Each of our libraries in Knowsley has at least one public access computer catalogue containing details of all the books held by Knowsley Library Service.

You can search this catalogue for information on:

  • The latest works by an author
  • Subjects of interest
  • Books within a series
If you want to know more about how to use the catalogue simply ask a member of staff.

If the book that you want is not on the shelves you can reserve it. The current charges are:

  • Adults 65P
  • Senior citizens and students 30p
If the book you want doesn't appear in the public access catalogue, you can still request it. If we have to borrow it from another library authority, the charges are higher:

  • Adults £5.00
  • Senior citizens and students £2.50
You will need proof of your being a student or senior citizen.

For any book you wish to reserve you should ask one of the staff for a request card. Fill in the author and title and any other details you have, and add your name, address and phone number.

Hand in the request card along with your payment to the member of staff. You should also indicate on the request card whether you are prepared to pay higher rates should we need to borrow the book from elsewhere.

You will be notified by post when the book is available to be collected from the library.
