- Hearing loop systems on reception desks to improve sound quality for hearing aid users
- Minicom and textphone
- Audio cassette players and headphones
- Magnifiers to enlarge print
- Computers, with adjustable height workstations, trackerballs and touchscreen
- Closed circuit television readers (CCTV)
- Robotron scanner which reads any printed material for you
- Play equipment for children with special needs

Books and information
We aim to make information and resources available in a variety of formats. Visit your local library to find:- Large print books
- Big Print weekly newspaper
- Information on tape
- Talking books
- Books to help with basic literacy and numeracy
- Information on a range of conditions and disabilities
- Information for carers
More than books
A range of items is available to groups and individuals in a care setting such as Resource and Day Centres and other care establishments. A Braille transcription service is available free to people registered as blind or partially sighted. Knowsley Library Service has also developed a number of innovative activity packs for use in residential and nursing homes.Aimed at care professionals, the books, videos, tapes and artefacts will help you provide a range of stimulating activities for all residents.
