Arts development - creative education

The Arts Service has, over the years, worked in partnership to develop a wide range of creative approaches and projects that support teaching and learning for all ages. One of our main aims is to create real opportunities of experiencing art and artists across the Borough.

Work in schools

  • Help you develop your own creative and cultural programmes
  • Identify funding for your project
  • Identify professional artists to run workshops
  • Develop creative training opportunities for teachers.
Examples of projects for Primary, Secondary and Special schools include:

  • Forest on a Leaf (Environment, Literacy, Arts, Ecology)
  • Transitions (PSHE, Science and Arts)
  • Cultural Curriculum (creative cross- curricular learning)
  • Touring Theatre (ranging from Sexual Health to Bullying and Peer Pressure)
  • After school clubs (Poetry, Creative Writing, Dance and Arts Clubs)
Partners have included, The Education Department, Schools, Professional Artists and Creative Practitioners, Sustainability and Environmental Development Division (SEDD), Library Service, The Windows Project, The National Wildflower Centre and many others.
