Arts and communities
There is an ever changing programme of
activities happening in communities
right across Knowsley ranging from
community festivals, promenade theatre
in the parks, communities writing
their own theatre performances,
choirs, bands right through to talent
showcases where people just get up and
show off. On this webpage you will
find details o f projects that are
going on across Knowsley. However, if
you want help with ideas for projects
and events in your own neighbourhoods
below are just some of the many ways
in which we support creative
activities in local communities.
Knowsley Arts Service can offer the
following support for groups,
individuals and schools:
- Opportunities to get take part in workshops, festivals, events and exhibitions
- Support in identifying funding and making applications (see attachment below for more details)
- Advice and guidance
- Support in developing and delivering arts projects and programmes
- Help in identifying professional artists to lead workshops
- Training workshops on managing your own arts projects
- Training in arts techniques for use with groups e.g. visual arts, music, dance etc
- Support in developing community and schools festivals and events
- General information on workshops, events, exhibitions and festivals in the borough
- Information about and links with existing community and voluntary arts groups in the borough
- Support on legal requirements
Funding Guidance
If you, your group or school are trying to access funding to deliver a project then the Arts Service can provide information and advice on current funding avenues and will also support you through the application process.Throughout the year, we run funding seminars and workshops for the community in partnership with the Arts Council of England and other major fund raising bodies.
