Sucess for Create a Cake

 

At the young age of 22 Liam Roberts showed his entrepreneurial spirit by opening his own sugar craft confectionary store, becoming an employer and within just 12 months is already one of the largest sugar craft suppliers in Liverpool.  His achivements were recognised when he won the Fresh Start Best New Business 2011 Young Award presented to him at the Knowsley Flower show in August.

He very quickly became aware of his customers wants and needs and utilising on this he has diversified his business to offer a variety of products and services.  Starting with his own range of edible products, Liam now offers items that customers cannot purchase from the average supermarket or store.  After having countless requests from customers further afield his on-line store is due to start trading soon.  He would like to see this as the start of his Create a Cake empire and is hopeful that he will be able to open a second store in Knowsley next year.

Initially Liam believed that the majority of his customer base would come from home bakers looking for goods and items to produce the perfect cake.  However he quickly realised that he could capture several niche markets by planning for seasonal demand.  He caters for student needing items to start college, to parents looking for ways to entertain their children during holiday's also special occassions such as birthdays and wedding.

After receiving requests for tuition Liam has now started offering 10 week classes at his shop on Page Moss Lane.  The ten week course covers everything from mixing cakes, design, decoration and modelling.  These courses have attracted much attention and he even has to look at the potential to expand the shop to create more room for the ever popular course.

Liam is thankful to his ever large and loyal customer base that has seen his initial ideas of owning a sugar craft store a reality.  He is excited about the opportunities and potential that Create a Cake shows for the future.
