Family friendly policies

Knowsley offers a number of family friendly policies aimed at helping employees to balance their home/work commitments. Examples of these include:

  • Annual leave

No smoking policy

Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council is a smoke free working environment. The Council has changed its policy on smoking in order to improve the health and well being of its employees, customers and visitors who enter Council buildings.

Regardless of whether you work indoors or outdoors, all Council employees are expected to adhere to Council policy and refrain from smoking during working hours. Certain specified buildings will be exempted from the Policy, such as residential establishments. It must be noted that whilst the building is exempt from the Policy [thus allowing residents/clients to smoke], Council employees are not exempt.
