Company overview:

Machmade Ltd has been trading for approximately 30 years, initially operating as a drainage business. Machmade has diversified into both the plumbing and heating markets, visiting approximately 25,000 customers per year. A full range of drainage, plumbing and heating services offered to their domestic and commercial customers, anything from a dripping tap to a deep excavation drain repair/replacement.

Key responsibilities for the role:

  • To work as part of a small team delivering excellent customer service to both domestic and commercial plumbing and drainage customers
  • Planning and dispatching work to a team of field operatives.
  • Produce reports / quotations for domestic and commercial plumbing/drainage customers
  • Liaise with engineers/customers and key account holders
  • Track and progress outstanding works
  • Produce relevant reports to plumbing and drainage team managers
  • Answer and deal with incoming telephone calls

Key skills to be successful in your application are:

  • PC literate and experienced using MS Office applications, Outlook and report creation
  • Highly motivated with a can do attitude
  • Experience in a customer facing role

Top tips for filling in the application form:

  • Make sure you take your time. Don’t rush as you may make mistakes!

  • Make sure any writing is neat and easy to read, and check your spelling
  • Answer all questions and fill in all the boxes/ spaces
  • If there are gaps in your employment history say what you were doing during that time. If you've have never had a job, you could include examples such as voluntary work, or involvement with outside clubs or organisations.
  • Make sure you sell your skills; this could also include things you have developed outside work such as interests and hobbies. This is an opportunity for you to promote yourself to the employer and is your opportunity to explain to the employer why they should employ you!
