Family friendly policies

Knowsley offers a number of family friendly policies aimed at helping employees to balance their home/work commitments. Examples of these include:

  • Maternity
  • Paternity/maternity support leave
  • Adoption leave
  • Parental leave
  • Job share
  • Right to request flexible working
  • Flexible working hours
  • Annual leave

No smoking policy

Knowsley Council is a smoke free working environment and all employees are expected to adhere to council policy and refrain from smoking during working hours.  Certain buildings will be exempted from the policy, such as residential establishments. It must be noted that whilst the building is exempt from the policy ( allowing residents or clients to smoke, council employees are not exempt.
