As a Knowsley Apprentice you will work for a local business
where you’ll get hands on experience of your chosen job while
gaining valuable qualifications.
There are no course fees – in fact, you will earn a wage whilst
you train.
By the end of your three year placement, you will have built up
valuable skills, experience and qualifications, creating an
impressive CV and putting you in a fantastic position to progress
your career. In fact, many apprentices are offered permanent jobs
within their placement company.

academic brilliance. If you’ve left school and are wondering what

Hundreds of local businesses are looking for people like you who
are passionate, ambitious and keen to learn. No qualifications or
previous experience are required. All we ask is that Apprentices
commit to the three-year work programme and attend relevant
training courses.
What happens next?
If you think a Knowsley Apprenticeship could be for you, here's
what happens next:
- Complete an application form online at www.knowsley.gov.uk or
contact Connexions on 0151 949 5700 (Huyton) or 545 5400 (Kirkby).
They’ll answer any questions you have, take your details and help
you complete your application form.
- At the end of the application period, if you are among the
shortlisted candidates, you will be invited to attend an assessment
centre. This will help determine which industry you are most
interested in, and to which apprenticeship your skills and talents
are most suited.
- The Knowsley Apprentice team will then contact local businesses
who are offering apprentices which match your requirements. You
will be asked to attend an interview at the company so you can meet
your potential boss and ask questions about the position.
- Once your offer of work has been received, a date for your
apprenticeship to start will be made.
- At the conclusion of the three year apprenticeship, your
placement company may decide to offer you a permanent position. It
is up to you whether you accept this offer. If you are not offered
a job within your placement company, the Knowsley Apprenticeship
team will work with you to help you find employment elsewhere.
- Even if you are not shortlisted for an apprenticeship, the team
will still support you to help find another training or work
opportunity to meet your requirements.
