Fixed Term Contract [12 months linked to Pupil Premium] / to commence September 2017.
The Governing body wish to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support our Special Educational Needs provision at Malvern Primary.
The successful candidate will have achieved or have the equivalent qualifications for Maths / Numeracy and English/Literacy [Level 2 qualification]   
The successful candidate will have previous experience of working with children with additional needs on a 1:1 or small group basis.  They will also be confident in the administrative function of SEN as this will form part of the role under the direction of  the school SENCO.
The successful candidate will:
  • Be responsible for delivering small group and 1:1 SEN support through targeted teaching and accurate assessment / record keeping, predominantly in Year 6 but other year groups will be involved
  • Support children as directed
  • Be responsible for auditing / organising SEN resources
  • Be familiar with the SEN Code of Practice
  • Be confident in observing and assessing children’s development
  • Become an integral part of a well established and experienced team
  • Be willing to work across Nursery, Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 as directed
  • Have knowledge of the standards and expectations for Literacy and Numeracy for a range of year groups
  • Contribute to review meetings with parents when required
