premises that are prejudicial to health
and this can result from severe
disrepair or dampness but also due to
inadequate or blocked or overflowing
foul drainage systems.
Enforcement powers enable the Council to serve notices requiring works to be done and can allow the Council to carry out work itself to remedy any public health risk. The costs of work carried out by the Council can be recovered from the person responsible.
