Welcome to Housing

Homelessness - appeals
You have the right to appeal against any homelessness decision taken by Knowsley Housing Trust (KHT) on behalf of the Council. The appeal may relate to:
- not being accepted as homeless or
- the offer of accommodation if you think it is unsuitable.
Should you wish to appeal your homelessness decision / offer of accommodation you must normally inform the Homeless Prevention Team within 21 days of the decision.
Your appeal will be heard by an officer of the Council. This Council officer is independent of KHT and will either confirm, amend or change the original decision. The council will write to you about its decision.
Following your appeal to the Council if you still believe the decision is wrong you may appeal to the Courts. You can appeal to the courts on a point of law. You may need to seek legal advice should you wish to appeal the decision to the courts.
