Welcome to Health and Social Care

Housing related services
Housing benefit consent
If you receive housing support services and also receive housing benefit, you will not normally have to pay anything towards your support. To ensure you are not charged, the Supporting People team requires evidence that you are receiving Housing Benefit. The easiest way is for the Housing Benefit section to inform us directly. However, you must give your consent for information to be exchanged.
Fairer charging assessment
If you are liable to pay for homecare or housing support services and do not receive housing benefit, you can apply for an assessment to work out whether you should pay a reduced charge for your services under Knowsley Council's Fairer Charging Policy. The assessment is carried out by fully qualified staff from Social Services in your own home. The assessment takes into account your income, savings and expenses. If you agree, the outcome of this assessment will be provided to the Supporting People team.
