Local Involvement Networks (Links)
Local Involvement Networks (Links) is a new way for you to have your say about health and social care services. From April 2008, Links will replace Patient and Public Involvement forums (PPI).
There will be one Link in every local authority area that has social services responsibility. The link will:
- Enable you to have your say on what you think about local health and social care services, from what is working to what is not.
- Give you the chance to influence how services are planned and run.
- Feedback to service providers what you have said so that things can be improved.
Local authorities will be responsible for procuring a not for profit organisation, known as the host, to establish and support the Link for an initial period of three years. The host will be accountable to the Link for ensuring that the support provided meets the needs of participants but will be performance managed against a contract with the local authority.
