Carer support

The Knowsley Carers Centre offers a free, confidential and non judgemental service for carers throughout the borough.

We recognise that the responsibility of caring for someone often places great physical and emotional strain upon the carer. The centre focuses specifically on carers’ needs rather than those being cared for. It does this because carers themselves have special needs, which are not always catered for by generalist information and welfare services.

The Knowsley Carers Centre provides:

  • Information and advice
  • Emotional support
  • Welfare benefits advice
  • Access to practical and financial help
  • Education and training opportunities
  • Access to available services in Knowsley
  • Social activities
  • Support to carers groups
  • Complimentary therapies and relaxation courses
  • Monthly carer forums - an opportunity for carers to have their voice heard
  • Carers emergency card
  • Volunteering opportunities
Carers can contact us by phone, email, or by calling into the centre in person. Should a home visit be required this can be arranged by appointment with our carer support officer.
