Advice services

Advocacy is a way of protecting and asserting your rights. It is founded on the belief that people are of equal value regardless of ability, wealth or status and therefore entitled to equal rights.

In Knowsley there are a number of agencies who work in partnership and advocate for older people.

Knowsley Pensioners Advocacy and Information Service (KPAIS)

This is a charitable organisation run by Knowsley pensioners for Knowsley pensioners. They provide independent Advocacy and support for older people to enable them to obtain their full rights as citizens.

They have a welfare benefits adviser who is able to carry out home visits for the housebound to assist with filling in forms for state entitlements.

KPAIS also run T.A.S.K. which is the Trader Approved Scheme for Knowsley. T.A.S.K. is a list of traders who have been vetted and approved. This is carried out in partnership with Knowsley trading standards department and is for the use of older and vulnerable people only - it is not a service that is available for the general public.
