Fostering
Foster care is a way of providing
family life for children who cannot
live with their own family. There are a
variety of reasons why children may not
be able to live at home.
- illness of parent
- family problems
- abuse or neglect
In Knowsley there are different types
of fostering:
- temporary fostering
- teenage fostering
- respite fostering
- permanent fostering
What type of people become foster carers?
Many different kinds of people who are able to give children a secure and loving home. You do not need any previous experience but you will need patience and understanding and the willingness to make a commitment to a child.We welcome applicants from all sections of the community, regardless of gender, marital status, disability, race, culture or religion. Training and support is available for all carers.
