Mental health

NHS Direct LogoOne in four people will have some sort of mental health problem in their life. This means there are millions of people in Britain who are either encountering problems themselves or know someone else who is experiencing them.

Specialist Multidisciplinary Mental Health Services in the borough are provided in partnership with:

  • Mersey Care NHS Trust - providing services and support to Knowsley residents in the Kirkby area.
  • The 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Trust - providing services and support to Knowsley residents in the Huyton, Prescot, Cronton and Halewood areas.
Further details of the services they provide can be accessed through their respective websites.

Anyone experiencing a mental health problem is encouraged to seek advice from their GP in the first instance, who will refer them on to a specialist service if they feel this is necessary.
